January 2021 Newsletter

Hopefully, everyone is staying warm and safe. A new year has begun; it brings hopes and out with the old. The holiday season was different from past years for many of us. I missed seeing everyone and the good food at the Cooper Estate Christmas party and other holiday activities but it was so nice to see all the Christmas decorations. Maybe by next December, we can resume our activities.

Our December Board meeting was attended by Zoom as will the February Board meeting be by Zoom on February 9th. Nominations for the Board members were conducted at the December meeting as laid out in our Bylaws. Greg McKinney and Ermilou Bryan have served a three-year term but are eligible to run for a consecutive three-year term. Both were nominated and as no other nominations were forthcoming the motion was made and seconded to cease the nominations. Todd Tolbert has resigned from his position on the Board due to his work schedule. Kim Hamilton was appointed by the Board to serve the remaining two years.

Please talk to your children and grandchildren about the dangers of playing on and around the lake when it is iced over. It does not get cold enough to freeze over to where it can safely be walked on.

The fiber optic work has been completed and our yards are looking very much back to normal. Ryan Lawn and Tree will be doing our lawn treatments again this year. If you choose to have additional lawn service please let Frank know.

We have many amenities provided by our dues, one being the night watchman who drives around the neighborhood checking on our safety and our garage doors. If your garage door is left open, you will receive a call. I know from experience and appreciate this service.

Due to the virus still being very prevalent we are asked to limit our office visits to the club house. The gym has a limit of 3 guests at one time or one family. The workout room is open to all but please wipe down all the equipment you use. Disinfectant wipes are provided.

As the weather and the virus restrict our social ability please check on your neighbors with a phone call. A friendly wave and greeting when you are out walking or driving is appreciated. Wear your masks and keep your distance so you stay safe. If you have the clubhouse scheduled but have to cancel due to Covid or any reason, please let the office know so the event can be removed from the calendar. Some days are very popular and someone else could use it if you can't.

We are sorry to report that we lost resident, Jim Morris. Please keep his wife Catherine and daughter Pam Jenkins in your thoughts.

We also lost former resident Dixie Mings.
